OKAVANGO TRILOGY 6 nights/7 days - $2425 per person - your choice of three camps Sample Safari: 2 nights - Camp Okavango, Okavango Delta Fly from Maun to Camp Okavango with a spectacular aerial view of the channels, floodplains and islands of the Okavango. Camp Okavango, situated deep in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta, offers the very best in remote and exclusive "water lodges". Accommodation is in 11 twin-bedded East African safari tents all with adjacent private facilities. Activities include game viewing and bird watching by canoe, small river craft, nature walks, and fishing. The area is renowned for sightings of Pel's Fishing Owl and the rare Sitatunga antelope, whose toes are especially elongated to allow it to run across the mats of papyrus reeds that dominate the Okavango. All gameviewing activities are conducted by experienced resident naturalist guides. 2 nights - Camp Moremi, Moremi Wildlife Reserve After breakfast, set out by powerboat to Camp Moremi. This journey will provide a breathtaking kaleidoscope of the Okavango. A splendid picnic lunch is enjoyed en route and there is also the apportunity to undertake a guided nature walk. Accommodation is the same as that offered at Camp Okavango, but it is primarily a land camp. The main Moremi Tree Lodge overlooks the serene Xakanaxa Lagoon and is set amongst giant Ebony trees. The Moremi reserve offers the highest density of wildlife of anywhere in Africa, and is an excellent location for lion, elephant, and various buck including the imposing kudu and exquisite sable antelope. Game is viewed on drives conducted by open landrover, and from a hide on the lagoon. There is excellent birding, including powerboat visits to the heronries on Gadikwe Lagoon, and you can fish for the plump Okavango bream. 2nights - Camp Nxabega Camp Nxabega is located among permanent waterways of the Okavango on a private concession at the Southern edge of the Moremi wildlife reserve. You will transfer by charter aircraft from Camp Moremi with an aerial view of the Okavango and Chief's Island. Nxabega lodge has been handcrafted in local timber on raised teak platforms that afford views over the surrounding floodplains of the Okavango. The main building comprises a dining room, lounge, bar, and reference library opening out onto expansive sundecks and plunge pool. Game viewing by open safari vehicle, mokoro.
